I
studied Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga with V. Sheshadri,
B.A. international Yogasana Champion. Traditional
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga by the system of T.
Krishnamachar, K. Pattabhi Jois
and B.N.S. Iyengar.
M.
Sheshadri has achieved high honors in state, national
and international yoga competitions. He pushes me beyond my
present limits with his own unique style of adjustment. He
teach me this particular technique to adjust student with
an incredible generosity of his person.
With
all the classes of asanas, prayanamas and philosophy about
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga; I learn so much and my goal is
to make accessible to everybody at least a little part of
this amazing way to live.
Ashtanga
Vinyasa Yoga still focuses on the general aim of classical
yoga-uniting the body, mind and soul. It uses yoga practice
in order to help you connect to your inner core of power;
it also recognizes power in several levels. First is the physical
power which is developed through the poses which develop the
body’s strength and improve health. Second is the mental
power or the will which is release by drawing your mind from
scattered thoughts and concentrating on your practice. Last
is the spiritual power which is the power behind the physical
and mental power.
This
particular system of yoga derived from the teaching of
K. Pattabhi Jois. He is the director and founder
of the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute in Mysore,
India. He learned this dynamic method from his teacher,
Krishnamacharya and in turn as handed it
down to thousand of students in around the world. The approach
is based on a specialized sequencing of postures and focused
on breathing techniques.
Through
this, connects your body, mind and soul Ashtanga Vinyasa
Yoga in the deepest level. When practiced with regulation
and awareness, wisdom and spirituality unfold in the same
manner as a tree grows. Every tree in the forest as the same
goal: Reach toward the light. Practice is the only means of
feeding it; K. Pattabhi Jois said "99%
of practice and 1% of theory".
